On May 21, twenty-nine 6th grade students from Northeast Middle School ventured north to Duluth for an overnight field trip. In Duluth and the surrounding area, students were able to see first-hand connections with their Humanities curriculum as they rode on a historic train, explored the Train Museum, saw Lake Superior with ships passing through, visited Gooseberry Falls, and heard from a Native American elder. There was time for fun, too, as students enjoyed a water park as a part of the field trip.
