"North Community Education Office hosted U.S. State Department  professional foreign visitors sponsored by the Minnesota International Center and International Visitor Leadership Program. "IVLP"  is a medium for professional and cultural exchange amongst emerging leaders.  The program 'VOLUNTEERISM: UNITED WE SERVE is a multi-regional project which honors PRESIDENT OBAMA's vision: Service as a Solution, Expanding Opportunities to Serve, Building Ending Capacity, and Embracing Innovation."

"On Thursday, April 15, 2010 Mrs. Elizabeth-Ann Lasley, Community Education Coordinator for North High School’s 21st Century Learning Center received a surprising call from Hayley Kanlyn, Program Manager , International Visitor Leadership Program, Minnesota International Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota inquiring about the Service Learning projects offered through the partnerships between the school-day and out-of-school programming. The surprise came as a result of the non-profit organization discovering this information on our websites.

 

The International Visitor Leadership Program

The program is a medium for professional and cultural exchange amongst emerging leaders. The majority of MIC’s participants come to Minnesota under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State.
