On the evening of Monday, November 14, ninety Northeast Middle School students entertained a large audience with vocal and instrumental music. Director Charles Preis conducted three bands and one choir, and Rory Thompson accompanied on the piano.

The concert began with the Intermediate Band (16 members) playing Regal March, The Wabash Cannonball, and March Mlitaire. Then the Concert Band joined the Intermediate Band to play Power Up! -- with 33 students on stage.

Next, the Beginning Band (20 members) played Getting Together to Eat Hot Crossed Buns Down by the Station, Merrily We Lightly Row, King Wenceslas on the Fjords, Go for Excellence, and St. Nick Goes to the Farm.

The Choir (27 members) gave the bands a break by singing five terrific songs: I Want to Be Happy, Good News!, Dona nobis pacem (Grant Us Peace), Soldier's Joy, and Elvis Presley Sings.

The Concert Band (27 members) ended the musical evening with Cougar Mountain March, The Buccaneers, Park Street Celebration, and Ascentium -- impressive numbers which the band played remarkably well.
