The Northeast Middle School bands and choir are having a busy spring with performances at school and throughout the community.
The choir sang at Edison High School during the Northeast community event of Art-a-Whirl on Saturday, May 16th.
Then. on Monday, May 18th, both the choir and the bands performed at NEMS for the spring concert. The audience enjoyed performances by the choir, concert band (picture included), intermediate band, beginning band, and jazz band. The performances showcased a wide variety of music including classical, jazz, Latin, and Irish, as well as music from “Glee” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
The choir will be visiting Waite Park on Thursday, May 21st, to show the elementary students what they can look foward to by being involved in music during their middle school years.
On Wednesday, May 27th, the concert band will be part of the Viva City! Minneapolis Schools Middle School Band Festival which will be held during the school day at O’Shaunessy Auditorium at St. Thomas University. This is the same group that wowed the audience at the Northeast Band Festival on April 17th at Edison High School.
