As a part of Native American Family Involvement Day, Northeast Middle School hosted a lunch for students and families. Representatives from the Indian Education department at MPS shared both folklore and true stories of native history. The also shared information about the programming that Indian Ed offers. For example, every Friday, the Native Student Group meets for lunch with adults from Indian Ed who tell stories and lead activities that help build relationships.

A special thanks to Alyssa Mitchell from Check & Connect who organizes the Native Student Group and coordinated NAFID. Also, thanks to Carla Korb who provided student art to decorate the media center. And of course, a sincere thank you to the families of our students who were able to join us for lunch!
