More than 65 Native middle school students from Anishinabe Academy and Northeast Middle School went on a college visit to Augsburg on January 30th.  The fieldtrip was a collaboration between the MPS Indian Education Department and College Gear Up.   Pictured is Joseph Vidal, president of the Native American Student Association, having lunch with some of our students from Northeast Middle School at Augsburg Native Youth Day.  In addition to touring the campus, students were able to listen to and ask questions of a Augsburg Native student panel. They also listened to Dr. Eric Buffalohead describe the American Indian courses he teaches at Augsburg and spoke with Bonnie Wallace, a well-known Native educator at the post-secondary level, who also serves on Augsburg's Board of Regents.
