On Thursday, May 8th, the NEMS Double-Dutch team competed in a citywide event from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Washburn High School. Kenya P., Penelope G., Vanasia L., Ladaisha H. and Kataja Y. did a wonderful job representing Northeast Middle School with their talent, competitiveness, and sportsmanship.
Sponsored by the Minneapolis Public Schools Office of Student, Family, and Community Engagement and Student Support Services, the Middle School Double Dutch Competition included competitors from Andersen, Anwatin, Folwell, Keewaydin, Lucy Craft Laney, Northeast Middle School and Olson Middle School. Teams and individuals could win awards for Longest Consecutive Jump, Best Stunt or Tricks, Best Team Performance, and Best Song, Rhyme or Chant.
