WCCO recently ran a story about Northeast Middle School's recycling program, particularly regarding a state study that we participated in last school year. You can find a link to the study at R.O.T. (under Programs on this website).

From the study, it is important to note that NEMS has a perfect mixed recycling program with 100% accuracy, or 0% contamination – THE BEST IN THE STATE! Our organics program was listed at 80% accuracy, or 20% contamination. This is not bad, but there are other schools in the state that are better at organics. We are taking steps to improve organics performance, such as the lunch video (under "Announcements" on the NEMS website) and working out a new lunchtime process. Please encourage all students to improve their organics accuracy at lunchtime by putting less plastic into the green bins. Great work, Northeast!
