Despite the uncooperative weather, this year’s Northeast School Showcase exceeded expectations! The Northeast Middle School table – organized by Matt Weld and Joe Bloedoorn, with in-person support from Pat Palan and Debbie Nelson – helped tell our story with digital photography, video, audio, chess puzzles and photography.  Visitors stopped by with questions ranging from structured recess and recycling to what it means to be an International Baccalaureate school.

The event itself featured live music, door prizes, and plenty of colorful spirit wear. An estimated 45 to 50 families braved snow, ice, slippery roads, and freezing temperatures to attend this year’s Showcase which was hosted by Edison High School.

A big THANKS to community partners including Audubon Neighborhood, Columbia Park Neighborhood, Waite Park Neighborhood, the Eastside Food Co-op, The Coffeeshop NE, Castle Building & Remodeling, and, of course, Public Education Northeast!
