Several Northeast Middle School students were selected to compete against hundreds of other MPS students in the regional National History Day (NHD) competion on March 23. In order to compete, students created original and creative documentaries, research papers, or group performances.

Congratulations to eighth graders Nivea Vang and Nadija Hunt from Ms. Adams’ Humanities classes! They took first place at the regional level for their performance "The Great Leaders of the Women Sufferage Movement," and will they will advance to the state level on May 4th to compete once again. Northeast has not been represented at the state level for over 10 years.

Also, congratulations to all of the students who moved on from the school competition to compete at regionals; your hard work was evident in your research projects.
