On January 21st, TRiO Educational Talent Search (ETS) took a group of students to volunteer at Second Harvest. Among the group were nine Northeast Middle School students who willingly took time out of their day off to contribute to their community. Students arrived at NEMS at 9:45 A.M. and then shuttled to Second Harvest in Golden Valley. There, they helped to package food for Feed My Starving Children. In total, our group helped package 688 pounds of food for needy families. The students had a great time and certainly did a decidedly good deed on Martin Luther King Day. If you are a parent or teacher of one of these students, please give them a pat on the back.
