The fairy tales in "Once Upon A Forest" came to us in parts, like a puzzle slowly coming together piece by piece. The classic Grimm Brothers stories got a new twist as Snow White, the Tailor, a Princess, a Hedgehog, a Maiden and three siblings find themselves facing giants, dragons, and other challenges in the Deep, Dark Forest.

After weeks of rehearsal, over thirty students put on the first performance of "Once Upon a Forest" on Thursday, December 9th. The play was preceded by the first annual Northeast Middle School "International Night of Sharing" potluck during which family and friends of NEMS enjoyed food from a variety of cultures as well as main courses from Marino's Deli.

The students performed a matinee on Friday, December 10th, for the sixth graders. The cast and audience did a great job, and it was a fun afternoon for everyone.

The final performance was held Friday evening. Like Thursday, there was a large audience present to enjoy another performance of this fun fractured fairytale.

Pictures will be posted here shortly, but in the meantime, enjoy Cassidy's "behind-the-scenes" video of the fun students have participating in Drama at NEMS!
