Three Visual Arts students will be representing Northeast at the anual Viva City Citywide Visual Arts exhibit on Thursday, February 10th. The public can view juried artwork by Minneapolis Public School students from 5-7 p.m. in Pohlad Hall at the Minneapolis Central Library.
The three NEMS students with artwork are Caleb Widstrand, Rilet Weston, and Josue Morales. Caleb designed a poster that combined his love of music with his art work; the poster is done in colored pencil. Rilet is exhibiting a close-up of a mouth eating corn on the cob done in acrylic paint. Josue, in response to an assignment called 'Paint in the manner of Seurat', selected a scene of hot air balloons reflecting in water. He used oil pastels and a technique called pointalism.
