This year’s Spring WingDing at Audubon Park attracted an estimated 200 visitors despite wind, rain, and unseasonably low temperatures. The Northeast Middle School Concert Band opened the festivities officially with renditions of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” “Edelweiss,” “Sphere of Fire,” and other popular selections, thus qualifying as an “all-weather” ensemble.  This “celebration of Nature in the city,” featured food, environmentally-themed presentations, family-friendly demonstrations, and informative, educational exhibits. Among the organizational “stars” helping to make the event a reality was the Audubon Neighborhood Association, the NEMS Family Involvement Group (F.I.G.), and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.
