AIR (Alternate Instruction Room) ROOM
Disciplinary interventions are not meant to be punitive measures or a means to simply punish students. Instead, they should be viewed as a way to address and rectify inappropriate behavior, while also helping the student understand the impact of their actions and providing them with the necessary support to make positive changes. Hence, an AIR room staffed by teachers and support professionals who will supervise students.
AIR ROOM Procedures:
If a student is late to school without proper excuse, then they will get a unexcused absent and a pass to class.
1st intervention student will report to air room for the remainder of the hour.
2nd intervention student will stay until lunch however if it’s the students 2nd intervention is after lunch, they will stay the reminder of the day.
3rd intervention student will stay the rest of the day
Student refusal to the air room will result in a one-day removal.
