World Mental Health Day

Join Northeast Middle School and Minneapolis Public Schools staff, students, families, and community members in raising awareness for mental health on World Mental Health Day (Saturday, 10/10), and learn more about mental health resources available to NEMS students and families below.

The NEMS student support services team is a collaborative, school-based, problem-solving team that supports students’ academic, attendance, social emotional, and mental health needs through:

  • Prevention: (e.g., Mental Health Team members pair with classroom teachers to teach lessons on anti-racism and/or teach coping skills during COVID-19)
  • Identification: Identify students who are in need of support due to COVID-19 and community/neighborhood trauma or violence
  • Support: (e.g., Small support groups, individual support sessions, crisis intervention, referral to outside agencies)

If a child is in immediate danger of harming themself or others, call 911.
